Its light reflects on the motionless lake.
Yet on this calm, quiet night,
A creature, a beast, its toll it will take.
The beast crawls softly through the trees,
Not a creature hears its quiet claws.
But the beast, in all its triumph,
Must reveal its weakness, its one true flaw.
"Blood", the beast mutters to itself,
Smelling the sweet scent of an injured being.
It snarls and leaps from the trees,
Spreads its wings and searches for the fleeing.
Its deep green eyes detected the thing,
A human, a campsite, with an orange glow.
The beast smiles to itself and moves in for the kill,
